Day 1

Our general schedule consisted of hitting the beach pretty early for about an hour and a half and then heading to the frigid pool waters! We would do lunch and naps and then go out to the beach again in the late afternoon. We actually stayed on the beach this year (instead of across the street) and it was wonderful having the ocean right at our back door.

The kids weren't so sure of the ocean on the first day, but they gradually warmed up to it as the week progressed. They did love digging in the sand, though. Not sure what's up with Anna's tongue, but it's sticking out in a majority of the pictures taken this week. Either she liked the taste of the salt air or she was concentrating really hard on everything!

She had the death grip on me here!

Granny helping Anna get comfortable with the water (notice her tongue).

Tongue's hanging out here, too.

And here . . .

and here!

Granny & Sam swinging by the pool.

Back to the beach after naps. This was Sam's first taste of the beach since he napped inside during our morning fun.

Anna's waving bye-bye to the water as the tide goes out.

Floppy hats are great, but sometimes they make your face disappear!

Going for a dip!

See, here's her tongue again!

To the Beach

What a week! We just finished up our week's vacation at Surfside Beach and while everything didn't happen exactly how we anticipated it, we had a great time! I'm posting in installments since I took an insane amount of pictures throughout the week.

We headed out last Saturday and our first stop was at Finlay Park in Columbia to meet up with Pop and Grammy. They graciously agreed to keep Hank while we were gone so we met up in order to get Hank to them and enjoy a picnic lunch at the park. We did not realize that it was Gay Pride day at the park and there were tons of vendors all over the park, a parade, and lots of colorful people (I think saw someone wearing Anna exact Halloween costume). Although it was a bit more crowded than we anticipated, we had a nice time.

Grammy brought a wonderful picnic lunch for all of us and we found the only shaded spot in the whole park.

Grammy & Pop with ALL of their grandbabies.

Once we made it to the beach, Jack and Anna were eager to check out our own private pool. It was freezing!!

More to come . . . .

Buddies

This is what we do while the other kids are napping. Sam and I play and get some quality time in without the distraction of two boisterous kids in his face. But of course, Hank is never far away, so Sam has a dog in his face instead!

Yep, he's playing with Hank's ear. They are really soft so I guess they make a pretty good first toy.

"Tutu" Cute!

If you're happy and you know it say "Amen!"
Yep, that's exactly what she's doing.

Fuzzy, but still "tutu" cute!

I asked if she wanted me to take her picture in the tree and she scaled it before I could even get to her!

Pterodactyl

This baby has found his voice! He squawks so loudly when he's happy and sounds just like a pterodactyl (at least what I think a pterodactyl would sound like if it were not extinct)! He's usually much louder and more animated than the video shows, but you have to actually have a conversation with him and I hate my voice on video so this is as good as it's going to get!

A Message for the Grandparents

The kids had a great time this weekend spending time with Grandy & Granny and Pop & Grammy. Since they were willing to keep my crew, I had a weekend full of girl time with my college friends. It was wonderful! Thank you!
