These Babies of Mine

Spring Saturday

Saturday was such a beautiful day (and a big tease since it's freezing today). We love playing outside and spent a good portion of Saturday in our favorite room in the house - our backyard!

Daddy's Helper

Jack helped Daddy pressure wash the sidewalk Sunday afternoon and he actually did a fairly good job! Marshall also got him to vacuum out the car and said Jack did so well that he will never vacuum his own car again. We will see about that one!

10 Months

The babe is 10 months old today. I can't believe it!

Some tidbits about our guy:

- Down to 19 lbs - that stomach bug that hit him 3 times was a doozie!
- Only eats "real" food, with the exception of a jar of fruit I still mix in his oatmeal for breakfast.
- Texture seems to be a big deal to him. He does not like cold or slimy things (i.e. a lot of fruits).
- Nurses twice and gets two formula bottles a day.
- Still has 6 teeth, but has recently started drooling like crazy again so maybe more are on the way.
- Naps and nights are still about the same. Sometimes he still wakes between 5:30 - 6:30 and I just feed him and put him back to bed. Although he seems to be sleeping longer in the mornings since I started giving him a formula bottle right before bed. Hopefully we're onto something!
- Crawling everywhere and pulling up on everything but has only cruised a couple steps.
- Can climb stairs if something he really wants is at the top. :)
- Loves, loves, loves his brother and sister when they are trying to make him laugh and his daddy always makes him giggle.
- Says "ma ma" and "da da" and I'm pretty sure other things, but I really can't tell you what they are. You would think I would be more aware of that!
- Sometimes tries to sign "more" but not at all consistent with it yet.
- Gets into everything! See . . .

Zoo Day

We've had the stomach bug floating around our house this past week. We're pretty sure everyone is well now and decided to go to the zoo today in order to celebrate and get out in the fresh (sometimes stinky) air. We saw lots of animals and had a great time.

Jack was the keeper of the map today. He would pull it out and tell us where to go next.

Marshall took Jack and Anna to ride the train . . .

while Sam watched from the sidelines enjoying some puffs.

Waving at Daddy and Sam.

Eventually we rode the tram over to the Botanical Gardens and enjoyed our picnic lunch.

Sam was just excited to get out of the stroller!

She's posing, not throwing a fit.

On our way out, we plunked the kids down on a bench and tried to get just one good picture.

Once we realized the bench wasn't going to work, we tried to change it up and put them on the ground. Sam just crawled away!

Anna tried to bring him back, but at that point, we knew it was hopeless.

We had a fun day!

My Fashionista

This is what my girl insisted on wearing today . . .

Is it obvious that she's really into the color pink?

Tidbits

All the kids are sick and Jack has literally watched tv all morning because he doesn't feel like doing anything else. This conversation happened about an hour after we turned it off . . .
Jack: Can I watch tv?
Me: Not now, maybe after your nap.
Jack: But I'm gonna be exhausted if I don't watch tv right now! I need to watch tv!

~~~~~
We were talking about a friend's older brother . . .
Jack: I wish I was 5 like Peter. But one day I will be 5 and then I will be 6, and then 7, and then 8, and 9, and 10, and 11. And when I get to be 12, I'm gonna be a hero!
~~~~

We've really been dealing with the kids hitting each other lately . . .
Anna: Jack's not sharing. Can I hit him?
(Well at least she asked first! Does that mean we're making progress?)

~~~~
We were talking about how Granny's leg is "hurt" and she's having trouble walking . . .
Jack: Ninny can't walk?
Me: It's hard for her to walk right now because her leg is hurt.
Jack: Well, she'll just have to crawl then!
(I don't think they are working on that in PT.)
~~~~

Jack: Ooooh! I'm too sick to walk.
(And then he crawled everywhere he needed to go for the next 15 minutes.)

~~~~
That's all the funnies I can think of now. I keep saying I'm going to write them down but then I never get around to it.
In other not-so-funny news, all 3 kids have the stomach virus today, and on top of that, Anna has hives. But the sun is shining and all the windows are open, so we're either shooing the germs out, or bringing more in. Only time will tell.
Swings
It's such a beautiful day today that Sam enjoyed swinging while the other kids napped this afternoon.
Then I sat him on my swing and tried to take a couple pictures, but he discovered my phone on the seat next to him . . .
and proceeded to eat it!
