Ears and Army Crawling

Sam had an appointment with an ENT this morning and he confirmed, what I suspected - my boy needs tubes. He got a double ear infection back in October when he had the croup and since then he's been on five different antibiotics. We've been to the doctor about every 2 1/2 weeks since October! The doctor this morning had to wrap Sam up in a papoose like thing in order to suck all the wax out of his ears, just so he could get a good look. He pulled some pretty gross stuff out of my baby's ears! He's scheduled for surgery (surgery!!!) Friday, Feb. 5th. He's really such a laid back baby, that you would never even know he's had infected ears for the past three months, but hopefully he will be able to hear a little better after the tubes. Don't want him missing out on all those speech sounds. :)

On another note, he's officially mastered the army crawl. I don't remember the other two doing this (that's not to say they didn't, I just don't remember it!) and it's so funny to watch. Big boy definitely gets where he wants to go and he's so happy to finally move forward instead of backward.

I tried to take some pictures this afternoon.

Please look at his pretty blue eyes and two new teeth, not the nasty bib.

I took it off, but this is what his shirt looked like under it. Maybe one day he won't have to wear 15 bibs a day.

Got it!

And this is how he watched Baby Einstein this afternoon.

8 Months

Look

who's

eight

months

old

today!

Some quick facts for the record:

- Just getting his first teeth (bottom two, though one is through more than the other).
- Rolls everywhere and can be on the other side of the room in a second.
- Rocks back and forth on all fours, then scoots backwards which makes him a bit frustrated.
- More interested in rolling and rocking than sleeping and now fusses sometimes when going down for naps.
- Sleeps from about 8pm - 7am without waking (for the most part).
- Finished up 5th round of antibiotics for ear infection that began in October and is scheduled to see an ENT Tuesday.
- Babbles but generally without consonants. It usually sounds like "yeah, yeah, yeah" (maybe he likes The Beatles).
- Loves Gerber Puffs, but isn't as fond of the Wal-Mart brand.
- Has tried pieces of carrots and apples and didn't love them, but he does like Ritz crackers.
- Discovered how to blow raspberries, so now in addition to spitting up and drooling on you, he also sprays you.
- Loves to chew on soft toys (prefers them over plastic) and his favorite seems to be a lion he got for Christmas.
- Has the sweetest smile and the happiest laugh that always brighten my day!

Park Day

Since it's so beautiful outside today we spent time picnic-ing at the park with friends. We had a great time and now we are so ready for spring. I love playing at the park with my kids!

Ryan and Anna being daredevils.

Squished on the swing and loving every minute of it.

Zoe checking it out from a distance before deciding to join in on the fun.

Sam looks sleepy but the sun was just in his eyes.

Jack being a daredevil.

Thinking about crossing the bridge.

Sweet little Addie.

Swing sharing.

I know it's fuzzy but this is the first picture I have of his teeth that just came in (the two on the bottom).

He LOVED swinging!

All seven of the kids taking up the whole row of swings and having a blast.

Jack loves making his baby brother laugh.

Sweet friends: Jack, Jonas, & Ryan.

Addie & Anna being "helpers" by pushing Sam's stroller.

New Car Seat

Jack got a new car seat last night so we spent a good portion of this morning in the car installing, adjusting straps, and rearranging car seats. Sam was in need of another seat, but Jack got the new one and everyone else just bumped up a seat. Once they were installed, Jack and Anna refused to get out of their new seats, so they read to each other for at least 20 minutes in the car - buckled into their car seats! Silly kids!

Even though it's not brand new, Anna is thrilled with her hand-me-down seat from Jack. Check this out if you want to see the first time she sat in this seat. She's grown a bit in a year and a half!

Jack loves his new seat and had to show it off to all of his friends at the park today!

Oh BOY!!

One of my college roommates and dearest friends had her first baby this past weekend. It was super exciting because she didn't find out what she was having and went into labor over 3 weeks early (and still had an 8lb baby)! Marshall got off work early Sat and suggested we go visit, so we took off! Stopped by Wellford to drop off Sam and Hank, and the rest of us headed to spend the night with Huli in RH. The kids played, we went to church and lunch with Huli and Marc and then headed to visit the new Mama!

Posing with Lottie and baby Colt.

Benjamin "Colt" Moody

The proud parents, Chris & Lottie

Last weekend I was in Rock Hill helping out with Lottie's baby shower. I forgot to take my camera battery (it was charging at home - ugh!) so I didn't take any pictures of the fun gifts or the super cute cake, but Huli sent me this one of us: myself, Carrie, Lottie, Huli, & Allison. Jessi couldn't come until later and we forgot to take a picture. Next time, Jess . . .

It was a fun time and I'm so excited for the Moody family of three!

Go Duke!

Early bath time and into the pjs so we can gather 'round to watch Daddy's favorite team (just the first half).

My Boys and Their Bath Toys

Marshall took Anna with him to run errands last night so I gave the boys an early bath. They had a blast playing with the Barbies while our girl was away!

So Proud

Jack wrote his name today and wanted me to take a picture. He was so proud of himself!

Happy Boy

I think Sam is the smiley-est (is that a word?) baby I've ever seen. I love it!!

Those toothless gums are precious to me!

Playing Trains

We do a lot of this during the day!

Chunky Thighs

I think Sam's thighs might be bigger than Anna's. This was my attempt to take a side by side picture and prove my theory. She didn't exactly cooperate, but at least I got a smile out of both of them!
