Just a Typical Day

Meanwhile . . .

Jack and Anna were just as busy bouncing from activity to activity while spending the week with grandparents. They went to feed the ducks and, unlike Sam, actually had ducks there to feed!

They also managed to snack on Krispy Kreme.

Though there were healthier options offered throughout the week.

They played dress up.

And even went on an Easter egg hunt in dress up clothes.

Ninny and Grandy took them to the park and they had a blast!

Later in the week they went to the Children's Museum and rumor has it, huge fits were thrown when it was time to leave because everyone was just having so much fun!

The kids also enjoyed church with Ninny and Grandy, Monkey Joe's, and dinner and feeding fish with Pop and Grammy, but no pictures of that. They enjoyed every minute of Spring Break for sure, and I'm so glad they got to spend time with all of their grandparents!

Sam's Super Fun Week

Spring break this year got off to a bit of a rocky start with Lucy in the hospital for three nights, so once we were settled in back at home I tried to do lots of extra fun things with Sam. Jack and Anna were with the grandparents for the week so Sam enjoyed some special activities, while Lucy did a lot of sleeping.

One thing Sam did was sleep wherever he wanted. Each night he chose a different bed and he obviously thought he was big stuff sleeping in his his siblings' beds.

On Tuesday we visited the Equine rescue (aka the horse farm) and Sam had a good time running around neighing at the horses, despite the fierce winds.

Wednesday brought a puppet show to the gardens and while I knew he wouldn't sit through the whole puppet show, I figured he would enjoy the picnic and feeding the ducks. I guess the ducks were taking cover from all the people because they were no where to be found - despite all the quacking Sam did to entice them to come out. He still enjoyed walking the gardens and seeing the fish. He did NOT enjoy the Easter Bunny! Poor boy stopped dead in his tracks when he saw the giant bunny passing out Easter treats. He didn't cry, but he certainly didn't want any part of that bunny!

This is what Lucy did most of the time.

Thursday we hit up the local gymnastics place and had a great time bouncing and balancing with the MOMS Club kids.

Thursday afternoon consisted of making a trip to Lowe's to pick up pine straw and when all you have is a minivan, this is how you transport it!

We had a fun week, but I think big boy sure was excited when his brother and sister got home!

Dress Up

This was the day Sam brought me Jack's shirt, jeans, and shoes and insisted on wearing them. He just adores Jack and was so proud!

Apparently he also like to dress as his big sister, as well!

Some Cuteness While You Wait

We've had an extremely busy few weeks here lately and I have a lot of catching up to do on the blog. Here's a little gem while you wait for my updates.

Lucy-Lu

Look who's feeling better these days!

I forgot to post her stats from her 2 month well check that was a couple weeks ago. At two months she was 12 lbs, 10 oz and 23 1/2 inches - 90th percentile for both. Today at a follow up appointment she was 14 lbs, 3 oz. She did have on clothes when weighed today, but I think she's plumping up rather nicely!

Oh, Sam!

I've said it before and I will say it again, this boy is TROUBLE! He just seems to find it wherever he goes! Tonight we were out taking a look at a new (to us) minivan and we were getting ready to take it for a test drive. Sam was climbing inside the new van and I was in the process of getting his car seat out of ours so we could take a drive in the other one. Before Marshall or I could get to him he tripped and fell right out. Face first into the asphalt. Sam was crying and bleeding everywhere and the poor salesman didn't know what to do! We finally got him calmed down (Sam, not the salesman), but decided that with all the blood, it would be better to come back for a test drive another time. As I sat Sam down in his car seat he caught a glimpse of himself in the mirror and totally freaked out again.

Guess I would freak out too if this is what I looked like! This was as I was getting him out of the car back at the house.

Here's one after he got all cleaned up. I don't think stitches are necessary, but hopefully the Motrin and Neosporin will help a bit. He's definitely going to have a huge goose egg on his noggin, though.

Apparently Sam thought Lucy was getting too much attention lately with her medical needs and decided to shine the spotlight back on himself. Point taken.

Update on Our Girl

First of all, thank you for all the prayers that went up on Lucy's behalf. They were certainly felt and we finally got to come home from the hospital Monday afternoon. Before we were discharged, though, Lucy had an ultrasound on her kidneys and bladder. Everything looks fine there, but she's scheduled to go back for a VCUG in a couple weeks to test and make sure she doesn't have kidney reflux. She's been such a trooper throughout this whole process and we're just praying that everything comes back ok on her upcoming tests.

Here she is during the ultrasound she had while still in the hospital. She fell asleep on the way down to radiology and actually slept through the whole thing!
