Fire Station

Our MOMS Club took a trip to the fire station yesterday. Jack was SO excited about it and talked and talked about seeing the fire trucks the whole day before we left. Bet you can guess what happened when we got there . . . he was scared of the huge trucks!! He didn't want to get up in it, but once Anna paved the way for him, he decided to try it out. Overall it was a fun trip!

Listening to the safety rules before going out to see the trucks.

This is where we parked the sleeping babies.

Really unsure of this huge truck. The door is open and he's looking up into the driver's seat.

Neither one of them would sit behind the steering wheel and "drive," but they did muster up enough courage to check out the back seat.

The biggest hit was the police golf cart. If you look closely, you can tell they are kicking each other's legs out of the way and fighting over who gets to sit where!

Pouting once I told them to stop it!

Watching the firefighters tell about all the gear they wear.

Sam eventually woke up and got to cuddle with my friend Ceilia.

Anna pretty much just wanted to sit on all the fire trucks!

At the end, we attempted to get a group picture of the kids.

Hmmm . . .

That didn't really work out so well!

Random Pictures

Since I'm incredibly behind on blogging, I'm playing catch up tonight. The kids have been at the grandparents for over a week and we've all been in and out of town, so in my attempt to get back to normal I'm updating the blog! Here are a few of my favorite pictures from the last several weeks.

Beverly & Jim bought these cute outfits for the kids to wear on the 4th. Not sure why they look so solemn here.

Guess they just wanted to move the picture taking outside!

He's smiling these days but it's so hard to capture on camera. This is the best I could do for now.

Grandparents

I'm so thankful our kids have such wonderful grandparents. They have all been a huge help during this transition from a family of 4 to a family of 5 (actually, they are always a big help). Thanks for all that you do and for loving your grandbabies so much!

To the Mountains

Jack spent the holiday weekend with Pop & Grammy in the mountains. He was so excited about going and from the stories he's told me, had a great time with them! He got to visit with Papa, Gail, and his Great Aunt Sandy, go fishing for the first time, participate in a duck race, enjoy a picnic and fireworks, and best of all, make lots of special memories.

Buckling up and heading out!

I'm guessing that's a cheese doodle he's eating. He does love those things!

I think he's "helping" Pop.

Tubby

Check out who gained a pound and 9 ounces in a week and a half:

We went to the doctor today to have him take a look at Sam's killer diaper rash and big boy weighed in at 9 lbs 6 oz! A week and a half ago he was 7 lbs 13 oz, so I guess he's got the eating thing down! He will be four weeks old in a few days - hard to believe.

Potty Time

Anna is really into the potty lately. Actually, she's really into doing anything Jack does, and I think that's why she's into the potty! She always tells us when her diaper is poopy, but recently she says "potty" about a million times, starts to strip, heads to the bathroom and puts the potty seat on the toilet. She only goes in the potty about half the time, the other half she just sits there, but I guess that's progress. It's actually progress that I'm not ready for, as I'm not at all ready to begin potty training with her, but hopefully that means when we do start it will be fairly painless. (HA - I know better than that!)

The point of all this is to let you know that Jack has now put himself in charge of Anna's pottying! He asks her if she needs to go, encourages her, helps her get the potty seat just right, and has even started helping her take her diaper off . . . ! He really is a good big brother!
