Resurrection Rolls

We decided to have a special snack to help us celebrate the real meaning of Easter. I found this on pinterest and then forgot about it until the last minute so some of the ingredients had to be adapted, but the kids still got the meaning and it was a really yummy snack!

The marshmallows represented Jesus' body - white and pure, without sin.

We were supposed to use large marshmallows but we only had minis, so we just squished a bunch of them together.

We dipped them in melted butter (representing the oils that would have been used on Jesus' body).

And then rolled them in cinnamon sugar, which represented the spices used to prepare the body for burial.

We wrapped them in a crescent roll "cloth."

The tightly pinched rolls are like the tomb.

Bake at 350 degrees for 12 minutes and see how the marshmallow disappears, just like Jesus!

He is RISEN!!

Spring Break Day 5 - We Built a Fort

It was overcast and COLD here on our last spring break week day, so we decided to hang around the house again. In order to mix things up a bit, we built a fort and my goodness, it was a huge hit! Eventually we popped popcorn and had a movie day. Fun was had by all!

Spring Break Day 4 - Fun at Home

Today we decided to take a break from going out, so we stayed in our pjs until lunch. We lounged around the house, watched a little tv, and then decided to get the pool and water table out of the attic. Everyone had fun splashing, and Lucy especially had more fun than I thought. If you notice in the background of this first picture, Sam is going commando. At first he was not a fan of the wet swimsuit so he just took it off until it "dried." After about five minutes he decided it was dry and put it back on. Weird kid!

Falling into the pool!

She loved splashing in the water table.

Even though it looks like Jack is choking Anna, I promise he's not!

Spring Break Day 3 - Story Time at the Gardens

Today we met up with our friends again and had a picnic and story time at the Gardens. It was crazy crowded but we were able to snag a seat in the shade and enjoy the show. We also saw the Easter bunny, made a craft, and fed the fish. Another fun day!

Jack was the only one brave enough to sit with him the first time around.

Cameron and Jack - they act like siblings!

Jack, Cameron, Sophia or Olivia (they are twins and I cannot tell them apart!), Annie, and Mia

The three stooges again!

Jack and Christopher

Anna finally decided she was brave enough to sit with the bunny.

Spring Break Day 2 - Fun with 5K Friends

I absolutely LOVE Jack's kindergarten class and I can't say enough how truly happy we are with the decision to leave him at First Pres. for his kindergarten year! They are a great group of kids and get along so well. Some of the other moms decided we should schedule a few playdates over the break for those of us without any major plans. So on day #2 we started out at the new library playground to play with MOMS Club friends for a while (but I forgot to take pictures), and then headed over to another park with bikes in tow to play with Jack's 5K friends. Thankfully one of Anna's BFFs is the younger sister of Jack's classmate so she had a great time, too!

Riding bikes and scooters on the tennis courts since no one was there to play.

Little Josh is a month older than Lucy and apparently needs to teach her a thing or two about walking!

Dylan and Gracie having a great time!

Jake holding his own with the big kids and their bikes!

Lucy Lu being shy!

Christopher wanted me to take his picture on the bench.

Some of the crew that came out to play.

The three stinkers who didn't want to be in the picture above!

Day 2 was a fun day!
