Thanks Pop & Grammy

We had a great time visiting with Pop & Grammy this weekend. Thanks so much for all that you did to help out with everything. We love you!

Just a few more pictures.....

Ready

Lucy has learned at an early age that you must never let your guard down in this family and you should always be ready to sucker punch anyone who gets in your face!

Jack's First Soccer Game

This is Jack's first year playing on a soccer team and it's certainly going to be interesting! They had a jamboree for all the teams today and boy was it crazy! There were tons of kids in soccer jerseys from every color of the rainbow and lots of parents and siblings. Despite the chaos it was fun to see Jack out there having a good time. Thankfully Pop and Grammy were visiting and gave me an extra few hands to keep the other kids entertained - I could not have emerged from this morning with my sanity still intact if it weren't for them!

Jack and Gracie warming up together.

Coach Scott helping everyone get ready for the team pictures.

At 10:00 (our scheduled starting time) the 9:30 game hadn't even started yet, so Grammy got to do a lot of entertaining.

Anna and her buddy Finley from school.

Jack's in the middle of the field apparently doing some sort of warm up stretch.

Lucy didn't have the best view of the field but I don't think she cared too much.

Halftime water break.

Jack came in as goalie for a bit after halftime.

Sam had a great time playing on the sidelines with Pop - check out his pink cheeks.

Jack's team, Galaxy, ended up winning the game 2-1 but I don't even think he cared about the score. He told me he had fun "running super fast!"

The Artists

Anna and Sam had a little painting fun today while Jack was at school. I think Sam liked playing in the water more than painting, but he had a good time and that's all that really matters!

Just a Little Preview

We received soccer uniforms and dance costumes all in one week and had to try them on to make sure they fit (some better than others). This is just a preview as I'm sure we will take many more pictures at these events in the coming months.

Cloth Cuties

Now that Lucy's starting to get a little chunkier, I've been trying the cloth diapers on her (babies usually don't fit into one-sized cloth diapers until they've filled out a bit). Oh my goodness - she just looks so cute in them! They actually seem to fit her just fine, but I'm only using them during the day when we're at home until I'm confident that we have them on the right settings and they won't leak. Plus, I still don't have enough to cloth diaper her full-time yet. Here are a few pics I've taken over the past week or so. You can tell her face is definitely filling out and she's getting a double chin. LOVE IT!

Not to be left out here's the most recent picture I have of my other chunker in his diaper. No idea why he's downstairs with nothing but a diaper on and why I happened to take a picture of it, but sometimes when things don't make sense around here I try not to question them!

Officer Jack

Floor Time

The moment I put Lucy on the floor to hang out for a bit, she's immediately surrounded by various admirers who want to get right in her face and love on her. So far she doesn't really seem to mind all these crazy people in her face, but I'm sure the time will come when she's had enough. Thankfully that hasn't happened yet.

Flexible Anna

This is how I found Anna watching tv this afternoon. I guess when you're three this is a comfortable position.

TROUBLE

How do you spell "trouble?"

S. A. M.

At least that's how we spell it in our house! This boy is such a little stinker. He gets into everything! One night recently, Marshall had a snack after the kids went to bed. Apparently he forgot to put the cookies away. The next morning Sam and I headed downstairs together; he went into the den while I went into the kitchen to start breakfast for everyone. As I was getting things ready, I realized Sam hadn't come into the kitchen and he was awfully quiet. I peeked around the corner and this is what I found. As soon as I said his name, he grabbed one more cookie for the road!

Check out the piece of cookie stuck to his pajama shirt.

Sam is also known to find Jack's Leapster Explorer and play with it. He knows he's not supposed to have it and Jack knows he's supposed to keep it up high where Sam can't reach, but sometimes this is what happens.

Busted and he knows it!

Tummy Time

The day Lucy turned four weeks old was the day I realized we hadn't even attempted one second of tummy time - ever. Oops! We've now incorporated it into our daily routine, and thank goodness she doesn't despise it the way her sister did. Here are some funny pictures I took today.

I caught her in mid-blink.

Girl always has her tongue hanging out - always!

All tuckered out after working so hard to hold up that heavy head!

In other news she's smiled at me on two separate occasions but I've yet to catch it on camera. She is the sweetest thing - love her!

Ninny & Grandy Visit

The kids had a big surprise when Ninny & Grandy rolled into town to visit with us for the day. It was so good to see them and the kids were wild with excitement (well, Lucy was actually pretty chill - she did a lot of sleeping)!

Ninny with her girls.

Not to be left out, Sam had to join in the fun (Jack was still at school when these were taken).

Stealing a kiss.

Grandy and his girls.

Grandy reading lots of books upon Anna's request.

The First of Many Matching Outfits

Anna already had these jammies, so when I saw some in Lucy's size on clearance I just had to buy them! Anna LOVED matching her sister today!

Swing Pictures

The big kids were playing in the back yard this afternoon and Lucy and I were hanging out on the porch watching. Anna wanted to hold Lucy on the swing so I grabbed the camera. Once we got there everyone wanted to be in the picture. I love it!

As I was snapping this picture, I had a flashback to another picture I took more than three years ago.

Same swing, different kids.

Now that same stubby big brother is a long and lanky big brother who loves holding onto his baby sister.

Love it and love them!
